Description

In December, 1962, The SS African Pilot played a key role in history when, shortly after the disastrous Bay Of Pigs Invasion of April 1961. The ship delivered supplies and equipment to Cuba as part of a Red Cross exchange (i.e. Castro’s ransom). It then returned to Fort Lauderdale with 923 prisoners and family members. This 24" replica was commissioned by the daughter of a passenger couple.
