Working with your photographs and available boat plans, line drawings and other resources, our model makers work to create an exact replica of your vessel and create a masterpiece which you will cherish forever. Once look at your custom model photo gallery and you'll see that we focus on the details. Even reproducing your exact helm station layout, down to the electronic instrumentation, gauges and wheel. We can even match the upholstery.

Whether it is a military ship, a commercial freighter or your own pride and joy- be it a sailboat or power yacht, the SD Model Makers craftsmen can make them all, with incredible attention to detail and museum quality workmanship.

Our master model makers, some with over 20 years in the business, skillfully create display models that capture every detail of each vessel. We offer our customers true museum quality replica models you will be proud to own and display for generations. Each model ship comes fully assembled, the hull is made using a combination of ABS and kiln-dried mahogany, with other parts made from a variety of woods, resins and metals. Each model is mounted on pedestals and a display base (waterline models are also available).

We engage our customers at each stage of the model build. Prior to shipping, we take a series of photos of your model and send them to you for final review and approval – so you know exactly what your model will look like and allow for any necessary modifications.

The build time is generally 18-20 weeks from receipt of the necessary photographs and support documents (plans/drawings), and will depend on the model complexity and quality of the support materials provided. If the model build time does not work for your situation, ask about our Gift Certificates.

The normal procedure is a 50% deposit with the commissioning, with the balance due prior to shipping. Once you have approved your model, she will be shipped in a robust shipping crate and insured for your protection.

Simple and Detailed Half Hull models are also available. Or our unique Transom Models.

Full model sizes start at 12 inches. Pricing is based on the vessel size, type and complexity, the model type and size, any additional options, and the shipping destination and method. We can build models to virtually ANY size or scale desired.
